Aha! Another!

One Month and a half later and...voila! I don't know what it's called yet though. I'm done with "untitled"'s"S'"Ss, I want obnoxiously long titles. Sometimes while painting, I'll sit down and just start writing free verse poetry, or any words that come to mind really. I like to think of my paintings as poetry, so writing poetry tends to get me back into the same mindset that will be needed to venture further beneath the delves of my painting. Nothing's worse than loosing your flow. Flow is quintessential to the art-making experience.

Look it, a picture with some words embedded deep inside of it! Also some faces

Yes, yes, a fun practice piece. Charcoal is my new best friend, along with highlights.
Perhaps I'm loosing my flourish a tad bit. I felt it flow a tad more in my previous piece, as in the black watercolor under wash. It seems that my preliminary washes tend to set the course for the rest of the piece, must try meditation or some other mental exercise before I do these perhaps...
Oh! New lesson(s)(?) I learned:
1. Do it. The only way to find out if something will work is to just do it. If it doesn't work, then try again and again until it works. Trial and Error nightmare mode, only for those strong of heart. This applies to art or simply the rendering process, however, it can equally be applied to everyday life. Try it!
2. When people piss you off, act, over act, perform, almost to the point where it's dangerously noticeable but not  too obvious. This helped today when an elderly lady appeared to be on the verge of shredding me into thin slices. Woe be the man that tries to get in the way of 29 cent sharpies. In the end she liked me thanks to my awesome acting skills! I have a new friend :D

Why the Hell not

Would you look at that! A painting! Yeah, apparently keeping up with blogs requires more discipline than I had originally assumed.
(It's literally almost been a full year since my last post)
But alas, I have conjured a piece which I am finally proud of, and so I deem it internet worthy.
The strokes!
The barely visible handwriting in the bottom left corner!
Faces!
I'm a sucker for flourish.
Also one sentence paragraphs.
Will post more: I...PROMISE.
Also, bridal magazines have the best damned photography on paper that I can find anywhere without ruining my mind on shutterstock or some other god awful site of similar means. Just saiyan.

Drawings for a better future

Probably not going back into it, I don't want to clutter the space about my two figures. This one was quicker as well, I sort of let my pencil do what it wanted to do and put my two cents in whenever it deemed necessary.

A pleasant mixture of old and new

Well I finally broke down and purchased a camera, and I must say, I'm on cloud 9 right now! I'm on a picture taking frenzy of any artwork of mine that I have laying around and I can't seem to stop. Well, I'm taking a break to post some right now, but fret not my dears, I will be sure to not clog the internet with the voluptuous volumes of these things I call drawings.

Above are 3 new works and 2 old ones, one of which is the first drawing of Ultram Mechanika I ever made! The three drawings are from Ultram Mechanika and the two water colors are from a new series called "Animal Extrada." I have a fun habit of making up words, I'm sure many of my college professors wouldn't be too shocked to hear that. Anyway, "Animal Extrada" came to me the same way "Ultram Mechanika" did, I just wrote it down as it came to me and I haven't looked back. Enjoy Mechanika! Oh, also please dismiss the rather odd quality of some of the images. I'm still in the learning process of how to properly light my pieces. Derp.

I feel like making a dump...

As this blog is fresh out of the oven, I believe it could use more content or decoration as you will. Here's a few drawings I did last spring. They're small drawings from a series I did called "Ultram Mechanika." Don't ask me what it means, the name sort of just came to me as I was working one out and it really fitted. These drawings came about the same way I got the name, they just sort of came out unfiltered and I did my best to make sense of them. I should post my artist statement in the near future, it does more justice to the process behind my work than a wild, rambling post that I'm all too tempted to get into right now. Anyway, enjoy Ultram Mechanika!
